Bob Bennett was a good friend to so many, my dear friend.
I thoroughly enjoyed not only playing golf with Bob, but riding in the same cart so many times with him, fortunately he let me drive most of the time. He taught me about my best club, which I have only used once from a sand trap after several tries to escape, it was the 'hand wedge', had not heard of that club until I played with himself. Bob also carried in his bag another unique club called the 'foot wedge' which was handy to use when you were behind a tree or in the rough. Bob and I use to car pool traveling to Sunset Valley Golf Course, while parking behind King's in Dell's Village, the first time we did this he graciously offered to give me a driving lesson and I did so well to say the least, he taught me so many various maneuvers which I remembered even though I was not sure my eyes where fully open, I was then able to drive on every occasion after that. On at least one occasion during our late friend Dick Catlett's (RIP) special golf outings to Cape Cod, I had the distinct pleasure of being not only on Bob's team, but also his roommate at least once a grand experience, what happens in Cape Cod stays in Cape Cod. He and I use to have a contest when we played golf in the same grouping, who could hit the drive in the fairway it didn't matter how short or long the ball would go, Bob usually always one that contest. We both had similar handicaps, high to say the least, but I was always the D- player and himself the D player scoring somehow always better than I, it was always fun and challenging. Bob's sense of humor somehow usually took me off guard, as a Muffin man at Paul's Dinner several few years ago, I was reasonably new when someone was talking about a morning earthquake experience they had in the San Francisco area, Bob quietly said loud enough for everyone to hear: "I'll bet that scrambled your eggs", it was perfectly timed and hilarious. Although it was tough when Bob no longer chose to play golf and then stepping back from coffee at Paul's I tried to stay in touch by calling he and Lu Ann periodically to say hello and most recently to wish them a Happy New Year, I just missed chatting with him that one last time. Bob will always be with us, at least me when I play golf and further when I attempt to open a Jelly or Butter packet for my English Muffin. I am a better person for having met Bob and knowing him over these past years, 'May the Road Rise to meet you, May the Wind be Always at Your Back .... May God hold you in the Palm of His Hand' Bob.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences to all, especially to Lu Ann & the entire Bennett family.
With Love,
Jack
Ps - Here's to you Bob, Rest In Peace My Friend.

We always enjoyed Bob's company along with that of his charming wife LuAnn. His sense of humor, there to be enjoyed by all, was a constant companion of his. We all live better lives to have known him and are grateful for those years. He shall remain
