Dick Johnson was one of those men who went off to the WWII, served his country and never talked about, nor did he ever complain...When he came home he showed us how someone becomes a part of their community...
I had the good fortune of meeting Dick later in his life, in his later years he would spend most of the year in his home in Lake Intervale the rest of the year in Florida...When you visited Dick and Rose at home, you were treated like long lost relatives...a man could learn from Dick how to be just that, a man!
Dick was a person with broad interest, if he committed himself to a cause, be it in a Veterans Organisation or working on a political campaign, if he told you he would do it, you could count on it being done...I lost a good friend, a friendly mentor and our Nation has truly lost one of the Greatest Generation...GOD Bless you Richard Johnson..
