I just came across the obituary of David and was quite upset to learn of his passing. David & I grew up in the same neighborhood of Staten Island, going to school @ P.S. 45 and later @ Curtis H.S., where we were very good friends. Although we both lived in New Jersey, David in Boonton and I in Bergen County, our lives took different paths until I met him at a public meeting in Boonton several years ago....it was as if we had never been separated as we recalled our many childhood "adventures". They say that hindsight is "20-20", and in learning of David's passing, I am sorry that we did not have closer ties over the last 50+/- years. Regardless, David was always a "super guy" and I am confident that his family will always recognizes this. Consistent with his approach to life, I am certain that he is smiling down on all of you...and hopefully on me!
Sincerely,
Lou Shenman

I have many fond memories of my "first cousin, once removed"...growing up our families always celebrated Christmas together, alternating years between Staten Island & NJ...I was the youngest and David the oldest of the children. So a tradition started - each year we had our picture taken together as I was also the shortest and David the tallest! I never did catch up to him but I felt we had a special bond through all the pictures...I will hold those memories, and many others, in my heart. I will miss you, David. Love, Peggy
