Obituary of June D. Schroeder
June Tanis Schroeder, of Pompton Plains, NJ, formerly of Towaco, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Born in Paterson, NJ in May of 1931 to Jacob and Marie (Van Bavel) Tanis, June was raised in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School in 1949. She married Arthur Schroeder in 1954 and moved to Towaco in 1957.
June worked for Hoffman – LaRoche in Nutley for several years before leaving to raise her family. Later she worked for the Montville Township MUA from 1976 to 1985. She was a member of the Montville Reformed Church and a charter member of the Montville Twp. Women’s Club. June was an avid reader and enjoyed working with crafts. She enjoyed traveling to Aruba and time spent with her family in Ocean City, NJ.
June was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, and her sons, Douglas and Edward. She is survived by her son, Donald and his wife, Vicky; her daughter-in-law, Lauren; her grandchildren, Bryan (Cassidy), Lindsay (Justin) and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Riley, Ryan, and Emma and many friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 17th from 3:00 to 6:00pm at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. The service will be held Monday, December 18th at 11:00am in the funeral home. The interment at Montville Reformed Church Cemetery was rescheduled for Friday, December 22, at 11:30am.
