Obituary of Barbara H. Burrell
Barbara Helen Burrell, 83, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023.
Daughter of the late William and Helen (Wyckoff) Ryder, she was born on March 3, 1940 in Summit, NJ.
Barbara graduated from Newark State College with a Bachelors of Arts and a Masters of Arts. She also had further education at Bank Street College. She was a school teacher for Lake Hopatcong School District for over 35 years, winning Sussex County Teacher of the Year in 2001.
An avid golfer, Barbara was a long time member of Rockaway River Country Club. She was also part of the Woman’s 18-holers. She was a big New York sports fan, rooting for the Yankees and Giants. Her passion in life was her grandchildren and golf.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cathy Cornine and husband, David; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Kendall Cornine; and her niece, Bonnie Lough.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, August 3rd from 4-6 PM at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave, Boonton, NJ 07005. Words of Remembrance will be held towards the end of the visitation period.
