Obituary of Dennis F. Woynerowski
Dennis Woynerowski, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on April 17, 2023 at home in Boonton, NJ with his wife of 50 years by his side.
He was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, IL, where he was an accomplished athlete and student. Dennis graduated near the top of his class from St. Ignatius High School, played baseball at St. Joseph’s College in Indiana where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, and later earned his MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology while working full time.
Dennis began his career at Illinois Bell where he met his wife, Mary, and worked for what became AT&T. This career took him and his growing family from Chicago to Denver to New Jersey to Omaha. Dennis spent the last 20 years of his career working as a management consultant for the Kappa Group, and raising his family in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.
He and Mary retired in Hilton Head, SC in 2004 where Dennis became President of the Lyon’s Club before returning to New Jersey as his health declined.
While Dennis’ career arc was emblematic of the American Dream, his greatest achievement was the family he raised with his wife, Mary. Dennis was a deeply devoted father and husband who leaves behind Mary, brother Michael of Chicago, IL, three children (son David, daughters Anne and Carrie) and five grandchildren.
Dennis was a tremendous role model to his family throughout his life as the embodiment of hard work, humility, and faith. What Dennis was most known for by his friends and family, was his acute sense of humor. He could have an entire room laughing with one sentence. He spent the last 20 years living without complaint and appreciating life’s less frequent joys as Parkinson’s Disease slowly disabled him. Dennis is preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Elizabeth, and sister Rachel.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Mass on June 17th at St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church in Mountain Lakes to celebrate Dennis’ life and legacy. To share a condolence please visit CodeyMackeyFH.com.
