I knew Pete from surfing in Avalon. He was a regular part of the dawn patrol and he always was friendly, easy to talk to and caught a lot of waves on any given session. Pete was a familiar face when few were around in the Fall and Spring.
I was truly saddened when I learned of his death today.
Rest easy, Sir. My condolences to Pete's family
Very respectfully,
John Dominica

Our thoughts to the family.
Besides being a fellow drummer, I knew Pete for many years as part of the Avalon, NJ surfing crew. He had the stoke, he would share the wave, and he was a morning regular. We will contiunue to catch three for Pete.

Saddened and shocked. Peter was a great guy. Great spirit. Hard worker. Humble. Pleasant and friendly and his own person. Ambitious in a helpful way. Talented, too. He drove me nuts. He and I always got stuck wrestling each other in gym class. Peter was all muscle! He never got tired. Never. Every part of him was sinewy, powerful, untiring muscle. It was unfair. He can't be gone. He was always in great shape. I'll miss him along with many others who were fortunate to know him. One of a kind, good man. Appreciate you, Pete.

Peter and I were friends all through middle school and high school, but it was not until we both attended Saint Michael's College and roomed together that our friendship grew. We spent one year at Saint Michael's before Peter transferred to NYU and I headed west to attend University of California, Santa Barbara. I remained on the west coast after college settling in the small beach community of San Clemente.
Peter loved to surf and he would often travel west to Laguna Beach and Malibu and he would reach out to see if we could get together. It would be a nice dinner, lots of laughs and the discussion always include an update on our families - then off he would go to surf and look at properties.
I was fortunate to have had dinner with Pete and Patty last fall in NYC, and my only regret is that I didn't hug him a little longer when we departed.
Peter, Rest in Peace knowing that you lived a very full life. You will be greatly missed.

Peter, This world will not be the same without you. I hope that your family’s memories will ease the pain of their loss. We worked together on many building projects through the years. You were my go to guy always with good insight which helped solve problematic Situations. On 9/11 we had a morning meeting at a residence In Hawk Hill. As we arrived you got out of your car and told me that you had just heard on the radio that a plane had crashed into the Trade Tower. At first we Thought it was a horrible accident only to learn that it was much worse. I felt that same sense of shock when I heard about you on June 5th. I will always remember your subtle laugh and quick wit. May God bless your soul. Jody Zawacki

I first crossed paths with Pete in the late 60's. He was a member of the Market Street Gang and I was a member of the Market Street Gang Juniors, when Hippie Hill was in full swing. Flash forward to 1982 and I was his painter - he kept me very busy! Most recently I've worked for his son, Jack (hope it's going well Jack). Right after 9/11 I got myself into a boatload of trouble and most had to distance themselves from me. Pete and Pat totally had my back and wrote a letter to the court on my behalf, which I believe was influential to the outcome. I will always be incredibly grateful for their support. Pete was a great friend and advisor. Rest in Peace Pete.

Love to Pat and the family. When you are in the business i was in for such a long time customers become family. Lives cross, a love for the California Desert and Laguna Beach surface in Boonton and Mountain Lakes. Very strange and wonderful thing. I am sure Peter is riding the most magnificent waves. Gods watchful blessing on Pat and the kids at this difficult time.

To say I was shocked and saddened by Peter's passing is an understatement.
He was such a full of life figure: unforgettable smile, perpetual tan, physically fit, laid back, bright, affable and always ready to offer or receive an amusing comment or story. He was an all-around good guy who appeared to be much younger than his 69 years.
I, and for that matter my late father, always enjoyed encountering him, usually at the Y, sometimes at the Reservoir Tavern and elsewhere.
Peter married his childhood sweetheart, the wonderful Patty, with whom he had two accomplished and, by all accounts, nice kids. Peter had a very successful homebuilding business.
It seems he had everything...except the additional time that all who knew him wish he'd had.
I'm glad I knew him. Rest in peace, Peter.
