Obituary of Peg MacLachlan
Peg MacLachlan, 78 of Boonton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Peg was born in East Orange, NJ to John and Agnes (Nolan) Leber in 1943. She graduated from Bloomfield High School and went on to become a secretary in healthcare. She worked for many years at Riverside Hospital in Boonton Township.
Peg met the love of her life, George B. MacLachlan and they were married for 29 years. She lost George in 1994 to ALS. Peg was the greatest mother in the world to her boys and even the neighborhood, where she was the “Lorraine Terrace Mom”.
In her free time, Peg was a Sunday School teacher at the Reformed Church of Boonton. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking for her family. Peg loved all animals, but especially cats. And what would the world be without coffee? She was happy listening to Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow. Peg was adored by many people – she had a ton of friends and was well loved by all who knew her.
Predeceased by her beloved husband George, Peg is survived by her adoring sons, George J. MacLachlan (Tina) and Thomas K. MacLachlan (Deanna); her cherished grandsons, Michael and Richie MacLachlan; her loving brother, John Leber; her nieces, Donna, Laura, Sharon and Maureen; her nephew, Bobby; and many, many friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. Burial will be on Saturday, November 27th, following the Funeral Service at Codey & Mackey’s at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the ALS Association or the Dementia Society of America.
