Obituary of Carol Josephine Plate

Carol Josephine Plate, 84, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021.

Carol was born in 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to Raymond and Gladys (Ryan) Plate, one of seven adored daughters. She grew up in Newark, NJ and was a longtime resident of South Amboy before moving to Parsippany in her last years.

Carol retired after 27 years at Malo & West in Asbury Park, NJ and never missed a day of work! She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, godmother, aunt and babysitter for her 24 nieces and nephews.

Carol spent the last 2 ½ years at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany where she was lovingly cared for by a wonderful staff, from nurses to aides and everyone who worked there.

Predeceased by her parents and sisters, Marion Barlowski and Gladys Donnelly; Carol is survived by her cherished sisters, Marie Tiffany of Hawaii; Dolores Perez of Florida; Camille Olson (Arthur) of Medford, NJ; Kathleen Reid (Robert) of Boonton, NJ; her beloved 24 nieces and nephews and many friends.

Carol – she will be missed!

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Wednesday, July 14th at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. A Burial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 15th in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Boonton, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
