Annie Laura Gayden, 74, of Morristown, NJ, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Born in Clinton, SC to Larry Young and Mamie Carlisle, Annie was raised in Laurens, SC along with her 2 sisters and 4 brothers. She lived in Morristown for 53 years.
Mrs. Gayden worked in housekeeping for Morris County for 25 years and at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville before her retirement.
Annie was a faithful Baptist and a 35 year member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boonton Twp., NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marrion; father, Larry Young and brother, Michael J. Carlisle.
Surviving are her devoted children, Cheryl D. Young and James C. Young; loving mother, Mamie Carlisle; caring siblings, Willie B. Carlisle, Frankie L. Carlisle, Linda D. Rice, Janie R. Davis and Nathaniel Carlisle; also 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Services to Celebrate Annie's life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 4 Church Road, Boonton Twp., NJ, beginning with visitation from 9-11am prior to the service at 11:00am. The interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Morristown.
