Russ was a memorable person who was admired by many and served the community with vigor and thoughts for the people.
I will miss seeing him in the pew behind me on Sunday's.
I know that his children and sister loved him much and will miss him terribly.
My condolences to all those in Russ's love circle.

Sandy and I moved into Montville in 1968 and one of the first montvillians that I met was Russ. What a consummate gentleman. Always with a glad handshake and a gentle smile he gave me great advice on everything from local politics to growing flowers and vegetables. How he loved his bride, his two children, and their families. I am proud to have called him a dear friend.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Russ. We prayed for your family last evening during the Ash Wednesday Worship Service at the Montville Church. I have known your dad since May when I began preaching as guest pastor at the Montville Church. He was a wonderful man - so faithful to his church- I would talk to him at the door after each worship service. The whole congregation loved him and will miss him greatly. I loved him and I will miss him too. What a wonderful experience to have met such a wonderful person. I extend my prayers and sympathy to all of you. May you receive God's love and comfort as you go through these difficult days.
With my love and prayers,
Rev. Karen L. Popjes
