I did not know Marilyn well, but her brother, Doug, and her cousin Donald were close friends of mine where we grew up in Boonton Township. I offer my condolences to them and her husband and son. I would especially like to hear from Doug. I've been trying to track him down.

Dear Mike and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I remember her well from high school and our days in Boonton Township. We rode the school bus together every day and she was never without a smile or her wonderful laugh. I have fond memories of her and I wish each of you God's peace that passes understanding as you move through the days ahead without her.
Sending prayers,
Ceil

I too grew up in Boonton Township, about 6 years behind Marilyn. But anytime we lose a loved one in death we mourn and remember times of joy, happiness and strength. I did not know her personally but maybe my older brother did. But we have the hope and comfort we get from the Bible knowing our loved one is not in pain, not suffering anymore. We pray that Marilyn will awaken from her sleep in the resurrection to see a cleansed earth and nothing but happiness.

Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Nicholas. Though you don't and Mrs. Burns didn’t know me, I still feel compelled to offer my condolences. I lost my Father 20 years ago and the sense of lost is still there. So i know a little of how you feel and my prayers are with you.
First let me say, after viewing the video showing a little view into her life, i was overwhelmed with grief...I had to take a few minutes to compose myself and it is still difficult to write. I hate death so much... it is not natural and is not what God intended for us. You all are such an incredibly loving family... I just wasn't prepared for the emotions the video caused to surface. I am sorry for rambling.... I am just really touched.
But what has helped comfort me greatly, with the lost of my Father, is the scripture at Revelation 21:3, 4 there it reads: With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.+ 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,+ and death will be no more,+ neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.+ The former things have passed away.”
And especially … Romans 5:28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice+ 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.+
This information about death being no more really intrigued me! I wanted to learn more. By studying the bible I learned that all those in the memorial grave will be resurrected back to earth!! I have continued to study and found out more facts that have built my faith that these things are going to happen in the near future. If you want to learn about this and how you can welcome back your dear loved one, Mrs. Burns, please go to www.jw.org and look up "Resurrection Hope" and you will find scriptures in the bible that will change your life and bring you great comfort.... as it has myself.
Again, my deepest condolences...
Nicholas

I thank you so much for the many memories I have of times we shared all the way
back to when we were four and since then. As happy as it makes me to think of
them, I am saddened, too, for how much you must have suffered throughout your
illness. I pray that you have found eternal comfort now with God. I pray also
for your family that the Lord's presence may help them as they grieve the loss of
you.

Dear Burns Family:
I am deeply saddened to hear of Marilyn's passing. She was a supervisor at Bell Labs at one time for me as well as a friend. I remember coming to see her and Michael when he was born at the hospital. May your wonderful memories of Marilyn help you through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. It is such a great loss and there is so little anyone can say to ease your pain.
Marilyn was truly a hard working and amazing co-worker in Whippany. She will be missed by many people.
