Henrietta E. Hess (nee Dawson), of Green Pond, NJ, passed away at home on Monday, September 8, 2014, with her family by her side. Henrietta was born in Butte, Montana to her parents Arthur and Marion Dawson. She was raised in Decatur, IL and graduated from Academy of Fine Arts, Chicago, IL. After graduation she returned to Decatur. Eventually she met and married her husband, John H. Hess. They lived in Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, New Mexico, New Jersey and Andover, Massachusetts, where they resided for 45 years. Henrietta moved back to the Green Pond section of Rockaway Township, New Jersey in 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Hess. Surviving are her devoted children, Marilyn (Tom) Brackin and John A. Hess; loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Jeaneth, Sarah, Laurie and Jonathan; cherished great grandchildren, Scott, Emily, Hayleigh, Brayden, Colby, Colman, Jackson, Matthew, Nora & Orly; dear niece Debbie and nephews David and Jeff. Family and friends will visit at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 (today) from 7 - 8:30 pm, followed by a service at 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street, Andover, MA 01810 on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover. To share a memory or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com.
