Ralph William Harris, 91, of Cedar Crest Village, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 335 Reynolds Avenue, Parsippany, NJ. Arrangements by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton, NJ. To share a memory or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. Ralph was born and raised in Gordon, PA. He lived in West Virginia and Ohio before moving to Boonton, NJ in 1975, where he lived until 2008 when he and his wife, Jean, moved to Cedar Crest Village. Mr. Harris was a veteran of both WWII and Korea, serving in the Army Corp of Engineers as a 1st Lt. He was a 1948 graduate of Penn State with a Bachelor Degree in Metallurgy. He was a metallurgist and the Tin Mill Manager for many years with Weirton Steel Corp. in West Virginia, before retiring in 1989. Surviving are his beloved wife, Jean Elizabeth Metzger; devoted children, Steven Ralph, Donna Jean, Mark William and James Charles; loving grandchildren, Caleb, Kyle and Laura. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Charles Harris and his sister, Mary Edith Mowry.
