Emma C. Squire (Banta), of Rockaway, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Merry Heart of Boonton Twp., NJ. She was 83 years old. Emma was born and raised in Boonton, NJ, where she attended Boonton High School, moving to Rockaway in 1967. She worked for Hewlett Packard & Agilent Technologies in Rockaway Twp. As a P.C. board inspector for 32 years, retiring in 2001. Surviving are her four sons, Alan B. Bayles of Monroe, WA, William E. Bayles and his wife, Mary Ann, of Newton, NJ, Peter A. Bayles of Rockaway, Bruce D. Bayles and his wife, Kristal, of Carol City, Florida; a brother, William C. Banta and his wife, Eleanor of Boonton; four grandchildren, Melissa, Mark, Brittany and David; a great grandchild, Jacob; also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Hilda Banta; a sister Marjorie Riegel; three brothers, Carlton, Chester and Kenneth Banta. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Wednesday, July 9th from 4-8 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 10th at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton.
