Robert Jessup Hardy, Sr. Robert Jessup Hardy, Sr., of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away after a long illness on Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Troy Hills Center in Parsippany, NJ. He was 79. Bob was born to Edward Peirson Hardy and Helen Louise Stupplebeen Hardy in Hudson, NY. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Journalism and from Cornell University with an MBA. He then served proudly in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Airborne Division during peacetime. Bob and Pat lived with their 2 children in Mountain Lakes for 46 years. They previously lived in New York, Philadelphia and Brussels. He was a faithful member of The Community Church in Mountain Lakes. Bob's started his career by working for a large advertising agency in New York, then moved to another agency in Philadelphia followed by a switch to the Corporate side, going to work for Warner Lambert in Morris Plains, where eventually he was transferred to Brussels as Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Europe. He then became an entrepreneur as franchising partner for the new firm, Housemaster of America in Boundbrook, NJ., from which he retired. Beyond excelling in his career, Bob was a devoted family man, taking great delight in his children and grandson, participating in Indian Guides and coaching Little League, as well as spending time at the Lakes Beaches during the summer, hosting holiday family dinners and taking family vacations with his wife, Pat and their 2 children. Bob also loved to travel abroad and he and Pat traveled to many faraway places Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia L. (Niemeyer); devoted children Robert, Jr. and Jessica Hardy; dear grandson Mischa Sequoia . He is also leaving behind his dear brother Edward Peirson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Richard of Houston, Texas. Relatives and friends are invited for a memorial gathering at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, June 5th, 4-6pm. A Memorial Service celebrating Bob's Life will be held in The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Road, Mountain Lakes on Thursday. June 6th at 11:00am.
