Obituary of George Curtis Bogart

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Curtiss Bogart, age 75, of Boonton, NJ, died surrounded by friends on Monday, January 14, 2013, following a brief illness. George was a beloved member of the vestry and altar guild of St. John's Episcopal Church. Every week he brought communion to residents of local nursing homes. He loved old movies, sang in the choir and was known as "Stick" to his parish teammates in the Annual Bowling Smack-down. Accompanied by his cat, Heathcliff, George welcomed one and all with his compassion, warmth and wry sense of humor to Light on Main, St. John's community storefront. George was born and raised in Keyport, NJ and lived in Florida before moving back to NJ living in Lake Hiawatha and Boonton. He worked at Transistor Devices, INC. Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, at 11 am, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 Cornelia St., Boonton, NJ 07005. There will be no viewing but the church doors will open by 10:00am for those who want a chance for private thanksgiving and prayer. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. John's.
