PARSIPPANY --- William R. Washkau died on Monday, July 19, 2010 at his residence following a long illness surrounded by his family. He was 80.

Born in East Orange, Bill lived in Irvington before moving to Parsippany 50 years ago. He was an electrician for 30 years with the Local # 164 I.B.E.W in Newark before retiring in 1990. Bill was a parishioner of St. Ann Church in Parsippany, an avid golfer and enjoyed motorcycling. He loved spending time at the Moby Dick, his beach cottage, on the Outer Banks, NC.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years G. Evelyn (nee Boyle) Washkau of Parsippany; his daughter, Patricia Bujtas, her husband, Ron and their children, Michael and Jonathan; his sons, Michael Washkau, his wife Pam and their children, Sarah, Jessie, his wife Jane and their daughter Piper; William Washkau, his wife Jeanne and their children, Victoria, Elizabeth, Jared and Alexandria; and Christopher Washkau, his wife Lynda and their children Krista, Kyle, Christi and Brittany; his brother, Richard Washkau and his wife Virginia. Bill was predeceased by his sister, Lois Cullen.

Bill will be greatly missed by his loving family and his cherished grandchildren.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Parsippany and the interment will be private. Friends may visit on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at Mackey Funeral Home 107 Essex Avenue Boonton (mackeyfh.com)

Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 781 Smith Rd., Parsippany, NJ 07054 OR to the Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern NJ, 38 Elm Street, Morristown, NJ 07960. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
