MOUNTAIN LAKES---Daphne Bayley died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Care One Assisted Living, Parsippany following a brief illness. She was 91. Born in Barbados, West indies, she was the daughter of Sir Hampden Archibald Cuke and Lady Isabel Carter Cuke. She traveled and lived all over the world, finally settling in Mountain Lakes, where she lived for the past 30 years. Daphne was an active member and served on the Altar Guild of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Mountain Lakes, was a former member of the Mountain Lakes Garden Club and volunteered for many years at the Mountain Lakes Public Library. An avid and excellent bridge player, she gave lessons to those desiring to learn the game. Her husband of 55 years H. Peter Bayley, died in 1996. She is survived by three daughters, Daphne Paulette Edwards and her husband Colin of Truro, U.K., Wendy Anne Mitchell and her husband Wilson of Mountain Lakes, and Barbara Margaret Elwin and her husband Bill of Brisbane, Australia; a son Richard Peter Bayley and his wife Beccy of Maidenhead, U.K.; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 215 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.
