BOONTON TOWNSHIP---Helen I. Forsythe (nee Bidgood) died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her home in Boonton Township following a long illness. She was 85. Born in Rockaway, she lived in Boonton Township for 61 years. Mrs. Forsythe was a Teacher's Aide for many years with the Morris County Education System, and taught in many school systems in the area, retiring in 1999 after more than 25 years of service. Prior to that she was employed at the State Pharmacy, Boonton for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Reformed Church in Boonton and was active with their Ladies Guild and hand bell choir. She worked, for many years, at the voting polls in Boonton Township and was an accomplished, self-taught, crafts person and piano player. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Clarence J. "Buck" Forsythe; two sons, James C. Forsythe and his wife Debra of Boonton Township and Clifford A. Forsythe of Rockaway; a daughter, Barbara Weatherford of Boonton Township; a brother, Richard Bidgood of Brown's Mills and a sister, Faye Weiler of Rockaway. Also surviving are five cherished grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Shannon, Glenn and Scott and eight beloved great grandchildren, Marcus, Jessica, Kyle, Tiffany, Xavier, Zachary, Dillon and Noah as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday, August 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 27th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with interment to follow at the Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton Township. Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to the Kiwanis Ambulance Service of Boonton, P.O. Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005 or to the local charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
