Obituary of Shirley Jean Westenberger

BOONTON TOWNSHIP Shirley Jean (Cilwa) Westenberger died on Friday July 13, 2012. She was 77 years old. Shirley was born in Morristown and graduated from Rockaway High School in 1953. She was a long time resident of Boonton Township. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Caramel Church in Boonton. Her life was devoted to her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Thomas R. Westenberger and five children. Laura J. Ryan and her husband Bill of Wharton; Dr. Thomas R. Westenberger and his wife Meg of York, PA; Mark E. Westenberger of Boonton Township; Lynn G. Westenberger of Rockaway Township; and Darren P. Westenberger and his wife Kristen of Pepperell, MA; a sister Betty Ann Dow and her husband John of Millville. She was a devoted grandmother to Ashlyne, Devon, and Kyler Weir, Kate, Sam, and Emily Westenberger, Alycia, Mark, Chelsey, and Kevin Westenberger, Torin and Story Westenberger and great grandchildren Ricardo and Matthew. She also leaves her two beloved dogs, Shauna and Bailey. Shirley was predeceased by her brother Walter Cilwa in 1993. Friends may visit on Monday, July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Mackey Funeral Home, ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton. The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday July 17th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton. Interment will be private. Contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the Montville Animal Shelter, 86 River Rd., Montville, NJ 07045. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
