Obituary of Herman L. Wisdom

BOONTON---Herman L. Wisdom, Sr. died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Merry Heart at Boonton Township following a brief illness. He was 88. Born in Jamaica, West Indies he came to this country in 1953 settling in Salisbury, MD. He had lived in Boonton since 1961. Mr. Wisdom was a molder with Valley Molding Co., Boonton for 20 years before retiring in 1981. He had previously been employed with Drew Chemical Co. and Boonton Molding Company. He was a longtime member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Boonton serving as a trustee and as a member of the men's club and men's choir at the church. He is survived by four sons, Herman L., Jr. of Tinton Falls, Vincent C. of Houston, TX, Derrick E. of Newark and Lloyd A. of Katy, TX; a loving daughter-in-law, Mitzi Abney-Wisdom of Stanhope; six grandchildren and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18th at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel A.M.E. Church with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 7-9 PM only at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
