BOONTON TOWNSHIP---Ruth M. (Wasdyke) Banta died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Merry Heart at Boonton Township following a brief illness. She was 84. Born in Clifton, she lived most of her life in Boonton before moving to Boonton Township 35 years ago. She graduated from Boonton High School in 1945. Mrs. Banta was an executive secretary with R.F.L. Industries, Boonton Township for 26 years before retiring in 1993. Prior to that she had worked at the E.B.Vreeland Agency, Boonton. She was a longtime active member of the First Reformed Church of Boonton and, for a time, served on the Board of Trustees of the Boonton Holmes Public Library. Her husband, Chester A., died in 1989. She is survived by two sons, David A. and his wife Barbara of Boonton and Donald A. and his wife Cindy of Roxbury Township; two daughters, Diane L. McAneny and her husband Tom of New Providence and Dale E. Graziano and her husband Ron of Boonton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and her longtime companion, Henry Albert of Boonton Township. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13th at 11:00 A.M. at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM only at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Ruth's name may be made to the Kiwanis Ambulance Service of Boonton, P.O. Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
