James Gordon Taylor, beloved father, grandfather, friend, and Vietnam War veteran, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, at the age of 73.

He was born in May 1950 in Montclair, NJ, to Gordon B. and Laura E. (Kaye) Taylor. Jim led a life marked by bravery and dedication. He served his country with honor as a U.S. Navy submarine radio man during the Vietnam War, demonstrating immense courage and selflessness in the face of adversity.

After his military service, Jim moved to Stillwater NJ, and started his own carpentry and roofing business, becoming a well known and appreciated member of the community.

Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Edward E. Taylor. He is survived by his loving children, Jared Taylor and his wife, Rowena; and Adam Taylor and his wife, Marie; his cherished grandchildren, Easton, Maeve, Emmeline and Aedan; and his siblings, Doris Crumly and Andy Taylor. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 10th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Codey and Mackey Funeral Home in Boonton. A service will be held on Monday at 9:30am at the funeral home, followed by interment at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair.
