Obituary of Kenneth Sudol
Kenneth Sudol, 68, of Montville, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023. He was born in Dumont, NJ to William J. and Genevieve (Rochacewicz) Sudol on May 14, 1955. They resided in West Paterson briefly before moving to Montville in 1963, where he has lived ever since.
Kenneth wore many hats in life, he was a Mail Carrier for the USPS in Montville, NJ retiring in 2016. He also was the Fire Sub Code Official for Montville; he later got his construction official license. He also served as a Special II Montville Police Officer, and had worked for the Montville Recreation Department as a Caretaker to the public fields.
Kenneth was a member and exempt fireman of Montville Volunteer Fire Department, holding several officer’s positions. He also volunteered at the Montville Senior Center. A lover of music, Ken especially enjoyed Jimmy Buffett. In his spare time, he would go hunting and fishing. Cooking, eating, and drinking with good company was one of Ken’s passions in life. He loved to host parties and made sure his guests did not leave hungry. Ken was also a passionate lover of dogs, specifically Dachshunds.
Upon moving to Montville in 1963, along with his father and brother, founded Sudol’s Farm. He would continue to farm and sell produce at the farm stand on the front lawn with his family, growing Sudol’s Farm into a well-established family run business within the community. In the fall, he would take orders for Christmas trees and drive to Pennsylvania, cut them down and personally deliver them.
Ken dedicated his life to serving his community of Montville.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Sherry Lynn (Brennan); his son, Justin T. and his wife, Stephanie; his daughter, Allie Sudol; his grandchildren, Emmett and Liana Sudol. He is also survived by a brother, Robert J. Sudol and his wife, Elisa; nephews, Brian and wife Brittney; Chris and wife Jessica; and 3 great-nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday October 5th, from 4-8 PM at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ, with a Prayer Service being held at 5 PM. Services are under the direction of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in Kenneth’s name to the Montville Animal Shelter.
