Shirley F. Suiter, 88, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Fri., Jan. 22, 2016 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. A native of Sussex, NJ, she was born July 28, 1927 to Stephen and Gladys (Russell) Leek, one of four children. Shirley was a registered nurse during her working life and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lyons, NJ and had previously served at the St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. She moved to Crystal River in 1980 upon retirement and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River and the Inglis/Yankeetown Women's Club. Mrs. Suiter is survived by her son Michael Suiter(partner John DeLeeuw), Boonton, NJ and daughter Bonnie Smith(husband Andrew), Dover, NH; brother Frank Leek of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and sister Lila Minervino, Mt. Arlington, NJ. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Beemer. A Funeral Service will be held in the Codey-Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00am. The interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.
