Obituary of Charles E. Folkers

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles “Gene” Folkers, 84, of Pine Brook, NJ, passed away at home on Sunday, July 22, 2018, with his loving family at his side.

Born in St. Louis, MO, Gene was the son of the late Esther Folkers.  Raised in Illinois and Missouri he has lived in Pine Brook the past 29 years.

Mr. Folkers proudly served in the US Army in peacetime.

Gene retired after 30+ years as a fragrance executive, primarily with Houbigant, Inc located in Ridgefield, NJ.

Gene cherished time with his family, whether exploring new places, relaxing in the backyard or playing games around the kitchen table.  He also loved the outdoors, spending many hours in his garden and indulging his passion for golf.

You would find him walking the 18 hole courses while everyone else took a cart.  He loved his weekly golf excursion with his buddy John followed by lunch at either Applebees or Fridays where they’d share the “senior” specials.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Cheryl Miller Folkers; devoted daughters, Lisa Page, Chelsea Folkers, Caitlin Folkers and her husband, Joe Cowper; cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Brooke and Matt.  He was predeceased by his son, Gregory and daughter, Cindy.

Relatives and friends are invited for a memorial gathering on Tuesday, July 24th from 3-6 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ.  To extend condolences or share a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com.
