Obituary of Elizabeth Dolch
Elizabeth Dolch, nee Torres, 59, of Lake Hiawatha, NJ peacefully passed away on Friday June 29, 2018.
Elizabeth was born in Manhattan, NY to Ricardo and Belkis Torres. Elizabeth graduated from Centenary College with a degree in Business Administration.
She worked for several years at CitiGroup. She most recently was employed as a Project Manager for Applause. In between these employments she homeschooled her son Christopher.
She married Ted Dolch and together they raised their son in Lake Hiawatha, NJ.
Elizabeth’s greatest joy was her husband and son. In addition to caring for her family, she enjoyed and supported Christopher’s passion for Competitive Ballroom Dancing. She loved taking him to his dance lessons and especially the Ballroom Competitions. Elizabeth was so very proud of her son. She also enjoyed taking vacations to Vermont and New England with her family.
She had a real passion for serving her community and helping others. She was a Den Mother and active in Christopher’s Boy Scouts. She was an active parishioner of Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, member of the Women’s Cornerstone and taught Bible Class.
Surviving are her husband, Ted; son, Christopher; mother Belkis Torres; brothers, Richard and Jose Torres.
She was especially proud of her Cuban heritage. She really enjoyed her trip to Cuba with her mother.
Elizabeth lived, laughed and loved. She touched many lives and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Taken from us too soon, she leaves us rich in memories. Maya Angelou once wrote: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Elizabeth had a way that made everyone feel special.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5th from 5-8 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 6th at 10:00 am in Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Cedar Knolls, NJ. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart or Cancer Association or your local animal shelter would be appreciated.
