Geraldine Elizabeth Ortega, 67, of Boonton, NJ, sadly passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, due to complications during surgery at NYU.
Born in Morristown, NJ to Eugene and Alma Hallock, Geraldine was raised in Boonton Township, NJ. She married Manuel Ortega and together they raised their daughter, Gina, in Boonton.
Gerry loved children and for most of her life she owned and operated a babysitting company from her home in Boonton.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel Matthew Ortega; a devoted daughter, Gina Marie DeRosa and her husband, Daniel; adored grandchildren, Evangeline and Santino.
Services celebrating Gerry's life will be held at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ beginning with visitation on Friday, May 11th from 4-8 pm. A service will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 10:30 am in the funeral home, followed by the interment at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township.
