MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ---James Prince Warner, III died peacefully at his home, here, on Thursday, January 20, 2011 following a brief illness. He was 78. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA he lived in a number of different places, living in Mountain Lakes, NJ for 19 years before moving to the Convent Station section of Morris Township in 1998. He graduated from Sewanee Military Academy, Sewanee, Tennessee in 1950. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arizona (Tucson) in 1955 and his MBA in Foreign Trade from the American Institute of Foreign Trade in 1959. He served, honorably, with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Warner was a senior vice-president for international banking with Westpac Banking Corp., in Australia and New York, NY for 7 years before retiring in 1991. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and a generous supporter of numerous charities. He was also an avid golfer. Mr. Warner's wife, Joan Elizabeth Young Warner, died in 1993. A son, John Patrick Warner, also predeceased him in 1967. He is survived by his children, Mary Elizabeth Warner of Tewksbury Township, NJ, Margaret Ann Warner of Kentfield, CA, James Prince Warner, IV of Brighton, MA and George Young Warner of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Mary Warner Harvey of Baton Rouge, LA and his five cherished grandchildren, Griffin Young Millett, Sarah Franchot Millett, Zachary Warner Millett, Francis Alexander Rusbarsky and John Young Rusbarsky. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, January 27th at 11:15 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, NJ 07078 followed by military honors at the conclusion of the mass. There will be no hours of visitation and the interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Mr. Warner's name may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Arrangements are by Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ.
