Obituary of David S. Potosnak

Local floral designer, David Potosnak, with passion for art dies David Scott Potosnak, 50, of Montville Township, NJ passed away peacefully early Saturday morning on October 14th after a battle with a rare cancer. A local entrepreneur and floral designer, David was born on September 27th, 1967 in Passaic where he lived until age of 4. Born an artist, David displayed his talent across many mediums. Whether it was watercolors or pottery or where his career blossomed into floral design, he displayed his creativity in everything he touched. David opened Blooms on Main in Boonton, and later the School of Floral Arts and Design, where he inspired his students with his passion. David was on the design team for many award winning installations at the Philadelphia flower show including earlier this year—where his smile and pride were in full display. David was a loyal friend, an inspiration, fun loving and free spirited. He is survived by his two mini pins Baxter and Sasha who knew to curl up next to him and provide comfort, parents Joan B. Potosnak (Miskovsky) of Montville and Edward Potosnak Jr. of Wayne and his brothers Gregory E. Potosnak of Forest Hills, NY, and Edward Potosnak III of Somerset. Visitation will be held on October 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and services will be on Saturday October 21st at 11AM at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton New Jersey 07005.
