Doris Emily Hornick (nee Borgstrom), of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was a remarkable 95 years old. Doris was born in Boonton and lived here her entire life, a true "Boontonite". She was the daughter of the late Einar and Mamie (Wendt) Borgstrom. She was a talented pianist who played in many local churches and venues. She was also a homemaker who worked as a teller many years ago at the Boonton / Mt. Lakes Building & Loan. Mrs. Hornick was an active member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Boonton. She was a member of the adult and bell choirs, Sunday School Teacher and piano accompanist for the PresbyAires. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Martin, daughter, Christine "Tina" A. Hornick and a brother Herbert Borgstrom. Surviving are her children, Susan M Pisarcik (Andy), Nancy J. Briarton (Tim) and Martin E. Hornick (Ann); brother, Einar Borgstrom; grandchildren, Natalie, Andrea, Anna, Karleigh, Sally and Jackson; great grandchildren, William, Diego, Charlotte, Henry and Thomas; also many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church of Boonton, 513 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ 07005.
