Robert L. Charlton, 95, of Boonton Township, NJ, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016. Bob was born in Boonton to Herbert and Lillian Charlton. After graduating from Boonton High School in 1939 he proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. When Bob arrived home he married and built his home in Boonton Township. Bob worked as a machinist at the Kaye Company in Lincoln Park, NJ for many years. Mr. Charlton was an active member of the Rockaway Valley and Montville Methodist Churches. He also volunteered for 15 years with the Boonton Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was predeceased by his first wife, Isabelle (Duncan) in 1988. Surviving are his beloved wife of 26 years, Barbara M. (Roming); his daughters with their husbands, Rhea and Robert Scott and Mitzie and Joseph Kohrman; also 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; step-children, Susanne King, Kathy McManus and Bruce Mabey. Visitation will be held in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Thursday, December 1st from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 am. The interment will follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township.
