I loved how after we sang "Happy Birthday" (it started with Grandma) you would say "Happy Birthday Dear Grandma" or whose birthday it was!

Dear Sagerer Family,
I can't even begin to express for how sorry I am for your loss. I have known Charlie since we were in first grade. We always used to play as ice cream servers during recess. With every grade progressing, I would always form a memory that included Charlie. Like how in seventh grade we would everyday do a dance during our Little Mermaid Jr musical practices. High school was also so fun, playing games on the Chromebook during lunch or just laughing stupidly during Music Theory class. School with Charlie was always full of humour.
Charlie will always be in my memories as he was my first friend, and made going to school not feel like a bore.
May you find comfort in the memories you made with Charlie and my deepest condolences to you.

I wish I could say something to ease your pain. Emma , Hunter , and Charlie were shining stars at John Hill School. They were never afraid to say hello and wave down the hallway. I can hear Charlie’s voice brightening my day. They looked after each other and loved each other. Charlie will continue to look out for his family. Boonton will continue to look after you. Charlie was a great friend, coworker, and inspiration to me. Although we weren’t close he and I had gone through some rough pasts and bonded over them. We had met through mutual friends but later had drifted apart. We ended up reconnecting after I started working at Pasquale’s for a while. When we’d work together we’d often catch up and talk during our free time. I was going through a really difficult time and through it all he inspired me to keep going. He was kind enough to give me some advice and encouragement. And was able to reassure me that It would be okay. Charlie had confided in me about his own personal experiences and perspectives. It gave me the courage to keep going and face my struggles. I am truly grateful I met Charlie. He was a light, an inspiration, and a truly special person. My deepest condolences.

There are no words to express the depth of our sorrow. Charlie was a great kid. We have so many fond memories hanging out with him camping, Hershey, Scouts, the lake and house parties. We were lucky to have that time with him. My favorite memory is when he was playing a preschool baby balloon popping game and how enthusiastic he was about it. Charlie and I were best friends all through elementary into middle school. I was a shy first grader but in second grade, Mrs.Mentones class, Charlie was the first real friend I made. I’ll never forget the time we spent together. All the birthday parties, after school play dates, and sleepovers. Whether it was video games, cub scouts, watching YouTube, or iMovie home videos it was always so much fun. I can’t believe that he’s gone now. Even if we drifted in later years there was never any ill will between us. I would have loved to catch up with him one day. I will never forget you Charlie.

Mr & Mrs. Sagerer and Hunter & Emma, I am struggling with words to say how truly special Charlie was. For the two years that I taught him, I was fortunate enough to have a young man who everyday met me with a smile that could light up a room, and that I loved reading his work and talking to him about everything from music to favorite foods. We shared a love for dogs, and I will never forget during virtual instruction when we brought both of our dogs on screen and made the most out of a tough situation. Your son and brother brought so much joy to so many, and touched so many hearts. I will never forget the impact he has made on my career and why I will always go into my classroom and give 100% to honor Charlie.

Words alone cannot express how heartbroken we are. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Sagerer and family. Charlie was a great kid. We have so many fond memories of spending time with him camping, Hershey and house parties. The prescool baby balloon popping game thing still makes me smile. Charlie will live on in all our hearts. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him, especially the Sagerer family. There are no words that can truly express how heartbreaking it is to lose someone so young.
