Obituary of Francisco Antonio Villada

Francisco Antonio Villada Arango, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Morristown, New Jersey. A longtime resident of Boonton, NJ, Francisco was born on February 12, 1928, in Medellín, Colombia.

Francisco began his career in Colombia as a textile supervisor for Coltejer. After moving to the United States, he continued his work in the textile industry with Gotthelf Knitting Mills in Boonton, where he remained until his retirement.

He was an avid reader who enjoyed following politics and sports, with a lifelong passion for soccer. Francisco was a proud member of Club Colombia in Dover, and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton.

Francisco was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosina; his cherished son, John Jairo Villada; his siblings, Apolinar Villada and Mariela Villada; and his son-in-law, Candido Orama.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Beatriz Villada and Marina Orama; his grandsons, Andrew P. Villada, John M. Villada and his wife, Jennifer Moran, and Steven Villada and his wife, Ashley Thomas. Francisco also leaves behind his cherished canine companions, Basil, Simon, and Cusco, as well as his beloved cats, Poe and Boo, who brought him great comfort and companionship.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during Visitation on Thursday, July 23rd from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton.
