Our deepest condolences to the Picconi family. Hunter and Emma would not be who they are today without having had Mr. Picconi in their lives. He was an amazing educator who will always have a special place in our hearts.

I met Paul as a child when he took my sister to her senior prom. In later years, he was my daughter’s teacher in the Boonton schools. He was always so kind with a smile whenever we saw him around town. Rest in peace, Paul.

It was an honor to know such a great man. We proudly gave to Franciscan Friars of the Renewal as Paul wished. Rest in peace, and your influence will be felt by many. In loving memory, Bobby Lee and everyone at the office.

Mr. Picconi is one of a kind. Gentle, caring, thoughtful, happy. He loves his family dearly and is no doubt proud of the men his sons have become. He taught me countless lessons I didn’t know I needed to learn in the moment. I never heard Mr. Picconi complain once (and as Seth’s friend, we gave him plenty of opportunities). He cherished every moment in life with a smile.

A creative, vibrant, vivacious man who brought joy and light with him. I say this as perhaps the least artistically talented student he ever had at John Hill? Fond memory: he benevolently let me abandon watercolor still life painting in fifth grade art (I was hopeless) in favor of weaving (better!). I weaved happily for a year. Sharing a photo of us at my wedding, January 2007. That gorgeous arrangement was his. Xoxo

My heartfelt condolences to Mr. Picconi’s family. Even after 18 years, I still remember his warm smile and laugh from my time volunteering as a parent at John Hill School. He was a wonderful teacher who truly cared about his students. Mr. Picconi taught my daughter, Ana, in the district’s gifted and talented program, where he encouraged her curiosity, questions, and love of art and science. Most memorably, he taught her to knit. Whenever Ana gives me one of her knitted creations, I think of Mr. Picconi and the special educator he was. We were so lucky to have him as one of her teachers.
