Obituary of John Joseph Turner, Jr.
John J. Turner, Jr. of Mountain Lakes, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The eldest of 15 children born to John Joseph Turner, Sr. and Irene Walker Turner, John came into this world in December 1943 in Newark.
John founded and owned a renowned system integration company, Turner Engineering, Inc. in 1967. John was named a Fellow member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineering – SMPTE. He also was honored with the Engineer Award in 1999 by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).
Predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Elizabeth, in 1994; John is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his cherished sons, Patrick (Meredith), Sean, Colin (Kelly), and Charles (Angeline); his grandchildren and great-grandchild; his siblings and their families; and his friends.
Per John’s wishes, services were private. Arrangements were made by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton.
