Obituary of Shirley Ann Berg

Shirley Berg (Weisman), 89, of Boonton, NJ, formerly of Swampscott, MA, passed away on September 11, 2025, just 3 days shy of her 90th birthday from natural causes related to her advancing dementia.

Despite her illness, she maintained her kindness, passion for reading & puzzles and love of family until the very end.

Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, Sherman, and eldest son, Mark Krivitzky. She is survived by her younger son, Larry Krivitzky and his wife Liz & daughter Jennifer of Montville, NJ and Palmdale, CA respectively.

Shirley’s greatest pride were her two sons. She became a fierce advocate for the developmentally disabled and worked hard to ensure her son, Mark, and others were given every opportunity to succeed despite their disabilities. 

Donations in her memory to St.Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or North Star Pet Rescue are greatly appreciated.

Shirley will be laid to rest on Monday, September 15th at 12:00pm in the Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lunn, MA. Services were provided by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To share condolences or memories with the family, please visit CodeyMackeyFH.com.
