Gary Wellmann

Gerhard Frederick Wellmann, of Beach Haven, NJ, formerly of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was 87 years old.

 

Born in Brooklyn, NY to Frederick and Anna Wellmann, Gary grew up in Mamaroneck, NY and was a proud Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Rochester, where he met the love of his life, Todne Londahl. Gary went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for two years aboard an aircraft carrier.

 

Gary and Todne were partners in every sense of the word, owning and building a family business together, Endot Industries in Rockaway, NJ. He was the company’s founder and Chairman while helping Todne to raise a loving family in Mountain Lakes. They loved traveling around the world to offbeat locales. Gary even had one of the first tickets in 1985 to fly on a commercial space flight, whenever they would be ready.

 

He was a Boy Scout Troop leader and coached Little League baseball. Gary was invited to Washington D.C. during President Carter’s administration to participate in the Small Business Administration conference.

 

He was actively involved with organizations within his communities including, King of Kings Lutheran Church, the Rockaway River Country Club and Bonita Bay Golf Club.

 

Gary loved spending time with his family and friends at his homes in Mountain Lakes, Beach Haven and Bonita Springs.

 

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Todne; Gary is survived by his devoted children, Steven Wellmann and his wife, Donna, Janice Robertson and her husband, Murray, and Jennifer Marin; his cherished grandchildren, Matt, Brian, Glenn, Chris, Amanda, Rachel and Hadley; and many friends.

 

Please join the family for a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 13th at 11:00 am in King of Kings Lutheran Church, 145 US 46 West, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Services provided by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton.
