Robert G. Walsh, 90, of Boonton, NJ, formerly of Eatontown, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018.
Born in Newark, NJ to Robert J. and Theresa Walsh, Bob had two sisters.
He proudly served in the US Army and was part of the occupation forces in Japan. He was instrumental in helping establish the telephone lines in Nagasaki after the atomic bombing in WWII.
After being honorably discharged he came back to NJ and was employed as a carpet salesman with Sandler & Worth in Eatontown.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Doherty and nephew, Eamon P. Doherty and his wife, Ester. He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Doherty.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Sunday, December 2nd from 2-4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, Mountain Lakes, NJ on Monday, December 3rd at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Belleville, NJ.
