Elizabeth Addis Corley passed away on September 12, 2017 in Denville, New Jersey at the age of 97.

Elizabeth (Betty) was born in Newark, New Jersey to Charles Mathias Addis and Jane Miller Addis on August 13, 1921. Betty was raised in Mountain Lakes and attended high school at Walnut Hill in Natick, Massachusetts. She attended Arlington Hall in Virginia and worked as a secretary in New York City during World War II. She married Robert Norman Corley (Bob), also from Mountain Lakes, on May 31, 1947 at the top of West Hill in Boonton Township. The couple settled in Mountain Lakes where they raised their two children, Stephen Charles Corley and Patricia Jane Corley. Betty and Bob were both instrumental in starting St. Catherine's church in Mountain Lakes. Betty served as the Head of Admissions at Riverside Hospital in Boonton Township for 12 years. She lived in Boonton Township for 20 years before moving to Denville, NJ where she lived the remaining years of her life.

Betty is pre-deceased by her husband, Bob, and her parents, Charles and Jane Addis. She is also predeceased by her identical twin sister, Patricia Addis. Betty is survived by her son, Stephen Charles Corley of Boonton, NJ, her daughter Patricia Jane Corley of Cummington, MA, her two grandsons and their spouses, Michael and Scotti Corley of Charleston, SC, and David and Jeanette Corley, also of Charleston. She is survived by her granddaughter Maya Bachman of Holyoke, MA and Parveen Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Betty on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Arrangements are in care of The Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To offer a condolence or share a memory, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com.

In the last weeks of her life, Betty was very concerned about the people stranded in the wake of the hurricanes. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local Red Cross Chapter for hurricane relief in Texas and Florida.
