George V. Dodd, Jr. 62, of Clifton, NJ, formerly of Boonton, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY to George and Marion Dodd, Sr., George, with his wife Beth, raised a family in Wayne, NJ and lived in Boonton before moving to Clifton in 2011. An expert Autoglass technician and true MacGuyver, George operated his own business, Dodd's Autoglass Unlimited, for close to twenty years. "Guitar George" was an exemplary banjo and pedal steel player with a love for music that was only superseded by the love for his wife and children. George was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1954 in Boonton. Surviving are his beloved wife Elizabeth A. (nee Osbun); devoted sons, George, III and James with his wife, Heather; loving sisters, Adair Field and Laura Birss; also a long standing friend, Harry Fritz. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Tuesday, December 29th from 5 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30th at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. To extend condolences or share a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com.
