Arthur W. Schroeder passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 89. Born and raised in Clifton, NJ by his parents, Henry and Gertrude, Art lived in Towaco the last 58 years. Mr. Schroeder proudly served in the US Army during World War II in the 10th Army, serving in Okinawa and was the recipient of numerous citations and medals. After his discharge he worked for Allan B. Dumont Television. He went to Art School nights in Newark and Union City and later was employed for 34 years as an artist with Deluxe Check Printers, retiring in 1986. Art met his wife, June Tanis, in the C&B Group at the Clifton Reformed Church. An active member of the Reformed Church, Art was a deacon and treasurer at the Montville Reformed Church for 22 years. In his lifetime he especially enjoyed time with family, world traveling and gardening. Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, June D.; devoted children, Donald and his wife, Vicky, Douglas and his wife, Lauren, and Edward Schroeder; loving grandchildren, Bryan, Lindsay and Ryan. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday, November 1st from 2 – 5 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ. A Service will be held on Monday, November 2nd at 11:00 am. The interment will follow at the Montville Reformed Church Cemetery.
