Obituary of Adelaide Krumenaker

Please share a memory of Adelaide to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Adelaide ("Addie") Krumenaker (nee Hirsch) passed away on Friday Sept 25th, 2015 of natural causes just short of her 90th birthday. After raising her children, Addie worked at South Nassau Communities Hospital, until she retired in 1991, and moved from her home of 30+ years in Oceanside, NY to Long Beach, NY, where she walked the boardwalk every day until Hurricane Sandy, when she was forced to leave the area. Addie loved to dance and even tried out for the Rockettes, but missed out because she wasn't tall enough. She was active throughout her long life, skiing into her seventies with the Nassau Family Ski Club and later the Garden City Ski Club. She was always creating things, from silver jewelry, pottery to her driftwood wall hangings. She had a great sense of humor, and was "feisty" to the end. Addie had a lifelong passion for the arts and frequently attended theater, opera, and ballet performances in Manhattan. She enjoyed traveling the world and teaching her grandchildren to appreciate all different cultures. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her devoted sons and their wives, Bob & Susan and Steve & Donna; loving grandchildren, Michelle (John) and Rachel; dear step-grandchildren, Bill (Chrissy) and Matt (Jess); great grandchildren, Sophia and Daniel; and step-greatgrandchildren, Brayden and Billy. A memorial "celebration of Addie's life" will be held on November 1st, 2015 at 314 Essex Ave, Boonton, NJ at 1pm. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton, NJ.
