Dorothy "Dot" Venturini, 75, of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 5, 2015 after a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Morristown, NJ to her parents, John and Elizabeth Bednar. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Boonton where she and her husband, Bob, raised their family of six children, her greatest accomplishment. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother and providing a happy home for all. Dot was a librarian for many years at the Boonton Holmes Library, retiring in 2013. She was a lifelong member of Mount Carmel Church where she was in the choir and a member of The Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of Sokol Hall in Boonton. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert P. Venturini and a brother, Richard Bednar. Surviving are her devoted children, Marie McKeever, John, James, Christopher, Robert and Susan Johnson; a brother, George Bednar and sister, Sr. Joanne Bednar, S.C.C.; sisters-in-law, Gail Bednar and Ali Landa (Henry); brother-in-law, Tom Venturini (Cyndi); also 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10:30 am.
