Willem Homeijer Tailor and Chemical Operator Father of Eight Willem Homeijer, 93, of Boonton, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Victoria Mews in Boonton Twp., NJ. Relatives and friends can visit at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2 – 5 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 910 Birch St., Boonton on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 9:30 am. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Boonton. To share a memory or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. Willem was born in the Dutch East Indies city of Djakarta, Indonesia to his parents, Joseph and Hermina Homeijer. He lived in The Netherlands from 1950 until 1960. He moved the family to the United States in 1960, settled in Boonton in 1965, retired to Cape Coral, FL in 1982 and moved back to Boonton in 2011. Mr. Homeijer was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Dutch military. He was a P.O.W. in Burma for 3 ½ years. Willem was an expert tailor by trade working for Dormer-Werner, Inc. in Bloomfield, NJ for seven years. He then worked as a chemical operator with Hoffman-LaRoche in Nutley, NJ. He continued to exercise his expertise as a tailor, specializing in women's fashion to the pleasure of many. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresia (Modderman) and a son, Harry. Surviving are his devoted children, Charles, Leo, Robert, Don, Jeanette Chase, Michael and Trixy Homeijer; also 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
