Eugene "Gene" Salemi Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather Eugene "Gene" Salemi of Tampa, FL, formerly of Rockaway and Parsippany, NJ passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2015 in Florida. He was 74 years old. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave. Boonton, NJ on Tuesday, July 7 from 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, July 8 at 9:30am. The interment will follow at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery in Kinnelon, NJ. To share memories or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Anthony and Anna, Gene then raised his family in Parsippany and Rockaway Twp., NJ for many years before moving to Tampa 5 years ago. Gene was a graduate of City College in New York, School of Engineering and Architecture with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. Gene worked for many years for Bendix, Conrac Corps. and Picatinny Arsenal as an electrical engineer. During which time he worked on various projects which included the score boards for Brendan Byrne Arena and Yankee Stadium, a recorder for the Voyager and the A-7 and F16 aircraft. Afterwards Gene and his wife Rose Mary were the proprietors of a Sir Speedy Printing franchise in Fairfield NJ where they became a top 10 store for many years. Perhaps he would like to be most remembered as a model train and RC airplane enthusiast. He was predeceased by his parents and wife Rose Mary (Titone) in 1999 Surviving are his wife, Madelyn Trani Salemi and her children Dominque and Wendy and a granddaughter Kaitlin. His four Sons; John and his wife Deborah of Boonton, NJ, Kenneth of Cumming, GA, Douglas and his wife Deborah of Denville, NJ, Edward of Flanders, NJ and grandchildren, Nicholas, Alyssa, Allessandra, Danielle, Gianna, Elijah, Kayla, Hannah, Jack, Emma, Ryan, Blake and Madison and great grandchildren, Lily and Riley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene's Memory to the Moffit Cancer Research Center, Tampa, FL (www.moffitt.org) would be appreciated.
