Obituary of David W. Gillaspie

David W. Gillaspie, 62, of Rockaway Twp., NJ, formerly of Boonton, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Scranton, PA to his parents, Terry and Margaret, David was raised in Boonton and lived in Morris County for most of his life. David graduated from Boonton High School, where he was on the track and field teams, and William Paterson College. Mr. Gillaspie was a self-employed building contractor in Morris County. Most of all he will be remembered as a vibrant man who loved his family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret (Winkler) and brother, Jimmy. Surviving are his children, David, Jr., Jennifer and Amanda; grandson, Jaxen; father, Terry and brother, Ron. Services to honor and celebrate his life begin with a memorial visiting at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 4 -7 pm, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm.
