She was 96. Born in Middletown, Connecticut on September 26, 1913, she lived there until her marriage to Patrick T. Marotta in 1937. They enjoyed 56 years together until his passing in 1983. Her marriage to Pat, the founder of Marotta Controls in Montville, involved hardworking years during World War II, helping her husband start his business, and raising three children, all in the same house in Boonton. The success of the business allowed them to travel worldwide, meeting many interesting and well-known people during their journeys. Quiet and sweet-natured, her love for her family was overwhelming, particularly for her grandchildren. Besides her family, Anna loved gardening, reading, watching movies and playing blackjack. Anna and Pat lived in Boonton and Boonton Township for many years before retiring to Florida and California. Anna was a member of the Rockaway Valley Garden Club and a volunteer at Riverside Hospital. She and Pat hosted the very first Fan Fair Festival in Boonton Township which later became the Riverside/St. Clare's Harvest Festival. They also hosted events for the Boonton Elks Club and the Vaughn College of Aeronautics. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a sister, Angie DeProto. Anna leaves behind a large, loving family, including her three children and their spouses, Patricia and Don Hager of Encinitas, CA, Jean Barnett of Murrietta, CA and Tom and Addy Marotta of Boonton Township; a sister, Minnie Cooper; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 20th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church, Kinnelon with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may call Monday 7-9 PM only at the Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ (mackeyfh.com). Memorial contributions in Anna's name may be made to the St. Clare's Hospital Foundation, 140 Diamond Spring Rd., Denville, NJ 07834. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. . .
